About us
Knowledge Computing is a family-run business founded in 1995. We enjoy our work and take pride in providing a tailored personal service and helping our clients be successful. It is important for us to have a good relationship with our clients. Most of our websites are developed via email and sometimes the occasional phone call is all that is needed.
Ian left the rat-race and set up the company in 1995. With Degrees in Chemistry and a Masters in Computer Science, Ian went on to specialise in computer programming. In 1991 he published his first book, the rather excitingly named Multilingual PC directory: a guide to multilingual and foreign language products for IBM PCs and compatibles, followed by a few years as a Staff Writer for a publishing company. This all adds up to a wide experience and range of interests which led to a career in Web Publishing. In recent years, plasma physics has provided a little diversion and light reading.
In true internet fashion, Ian and Caroline met online [and married within a year] with Caroline joining the business in 1999. Caroline has had a number of careers ranging from hotel and catering, to the Charity Sector and Fundraising, to business development [and a few more in-between including skippering a 120ft Dutch Barge]. As well as being a Web Publisher Caroline is the Founder and Editor of Homeworking.com. They have two teenage children.
We make a great team. We each lead on specific projects for our clients and we share skills and information as needed.
